Missing entry
[edit]Can we add the compound NO2 (Nitrogen dioxide) into the main list? With a boiling point of 21°C at 1atm, it is obviously a gas at STP. It is a well known chemical compound. Note that currently in this list, the least dense (i.e, has the lowest molecular weight) gaseous compound which is not colorless (beside diazomethane) at STP is ozone (M≈48 amu). After the addition of an entry for NO2 (a red-orange gas at STP, M≈46 amu), this situation will change. 2402:800:63AC:E276:E4F9:9F37:A614:73CD (talk) 12:04, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- This appears as "Nitrogen tetroxide" boiling at 21.15. Apparently NO2 is unstable and dimerises to this at the cooler temperature. I suspect if it did not dimerise, the boiling temperature would be lower.Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:34, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

- You can count the entries. I did not put the number in the intro as I keep adding entries. You may dispute the definition of a "gas" for this page so entries may need to be added or excluded. A few are isotopologues, so you may not want to include them. Also the list is incomplete, so the number will be too small. One simple way to count is to copy and paste the table into Excel spreadsheet and see the number of the last row. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:55, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
